Today we are so excited to share this stunning wedding by FQ Fam, Lime Tree Bower. Nerija and Helen chat to us about the beautiful day at Centennial Vineyards, for their lovely couple Megan and Nick.

Tell us a little bit about the special day…
It was the peak of wedding season in Spring on the 30th October 2023, a Monday wedding was the perfect reset along with a beautiful drive down to the Southern Highlands to escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney to set up at the stunning Centennial Vineyards in Bowral. An outdoor ceremony drenched in afternoon light with some pretty intense winds, made for some epic photos by Lucy from Translucent Photography. Autumn tones were the overall vibe and tied in perfectly with the vineyard ceremony backdrop and grand, rustic interior of the reception space.
What was the overall aesthetic and vibe of the flower brief that Megan and Nick came to you with?
Autumn in spring, why not! Megan sent through her Pinterest board along with some key colours (oranges, reds, greens and pinks – bright autumn colours) and we created a personalised moodboard for her, focusing on bold focal flowers complimented by daintier textures and a touch of greenery.
Being spring, it was an abundant time for seasonal flowers. We were spoilt for choice and used a mix of local roses, dahlias, cosmos, marshmallow calla lilies, ranunculus, lisianthus, chamomile, chocolate queen annes lace, mock orange and button chrysanthemums. The flowers were a pop of colour against the rolling green of the ceremony backdrop and tied in perfectly with the rustic reception interior and complemented the mis-matched hues of the bridesmaid dresses.
What was your favourite floral moment from the day?
Creating the bridal bouquet is always our favourite part, especially when we get to use a variety of stunning seasonal flowers with plenty of movement and finished off with a trailing ribbon. As it’s the most photographed floral item, there’s a bit of pressure to get it right so it’s perfect from every angle. Seeing it come together, along with the bridesmaid bouquets and how the colours all work together is so exciting!
Is there anything you would change from the day, or advice that we can pass on to our couples reading this?
We try to pre-design any elements that can be transported easily to make Bump In on site smoother. This time, we pre-designed all the bud vases and left the ceremony arrangements to make on site.
Challenged with the wind, we used multiple sandbags to hold the stands down, we weren’t able to peg into the grass, so we did our best to secure everything but ultimately an extra hand was needed to hold them down during the ceremony. Things don’t always go to plan and our biggest advice is always having a backup weather plan for extreme weather (especially a wet weather plan)!
We also love repurposing the ceremony arrangements into the reception space, so no flowers go to waste! We came back at the end of the night to wrap up all the flowers for the couple and guests to take home.
