Wedding Flowers: Elise & Beau by As Sweet As Jasmine

Brace yourselves flower lovers! You’re in for a treat!

Today we are thrilled to bring you the wonderful work of FQ member and floral superstar Jasmine, of As Sweet As Jasmine and her recent wedding with Elise & Beau. We chatted to Jasmine about her inspiration behind the day…

“Elise & Beau, came to us with a unique colour palette of blue & yellow. We had so much fun working with a high contrast combination, while creating a design that was still easy on the eyes. We focused on heavy textures, whimsical wild and luxurious ingredients with blues and yellow accent colours. The day took place at Wallalong House in August this year, what started off as a dreary Mid-Winter Sunday, turned into a dream of moody clouds & a golden sunset.

Overall aesthetic was for a luxurious take on whimsical and wild, with high texture elements. As we focus on Australian grown flowers, I chose Wattle, Queen Anne’s Lace, Calla Lilies, Delphinium, Roses, Daffodils, Jonquils, Blossom Branches, Chrysanthemums, Lilies, Stock, Tulips & Sweet Peas. We created two beautiful floral towers, a growing aisle that led down from the steps of the beautiful Wallalong Homestead and because the stairway into the venue is such a feature, we wanted to create a moment amongst the flowers here as well.

Once the ceremony was complete and our newly weds were whisked away for portraits, I moved the ceremony elements to the reception space. Wallalong House hosts the reception in their Indian marquee tent, where we placed the towers for a grand entrance and to highlight the signage. The aisle flowers found a new home at the base of the tables end.

Elise and Beau gave me total creative control. They suggested a few elements that they loved but ultimately left the designs up to me, this meant I could create versatile, creative designs with big impact! Everything was 100% foam free and locally grown, with about half coming from within 100kms!

The day of the wedding was the first rain we had had in weeks! The morning was dreary & wet. We were watching the radar all day and decided to take the chance and designed in the rain. It was actually a really lovely experience. As the day progressed, the rain eased, the clouds slowly parted and by the end of the day, we had a beautiful soft, golden sunset!”

We asked Jasmine if she has any tips for our readers, “Gather a team of vendors who you resonate with. If you vibe with them, and you love their work, you’re going to love your day and the whole experience”.

We couldn’t agree more!

Thanks Jasmine for sharing this cracker of a day with us! And big thank you to Elise and Beau!
