The Elopement of Bekky & Chris by Prospector Studio

Today, we bring you the beautiful elopement of Bekky & Chris, with florals by Sydney florist and FQ member, Geraldine of Prospector Studio. We’re excited to share this one, full of organic inspired, intimate vibes.

We chatted to Geraldine about the inspiration behind her designs…

“Bekky and Chris set their micro wedding for the 2nd March 2024. They chose the grounds of beautiful Carisbrook Historic House in Sydney’s Lane Cove. The gardens are wild and overgrown and set the tone for an intimate celebration of love.

The brief was seemingly open but a love of moss, ikebana style and richness where mentioned and the idea of it almost being like an art installation of florals was discussed. There was a strong emphasis on the focal point in the garden where they would exchange vows. The overall colour palette was white, green with pops of maroon. One flower that was mentioned was the slipper orchid. Overall the vibe was textural, sculptural with a fragrance.

After doing a site visit I understood why they had chosen this unique and lush setting, almost other worldly – untouched . To compliment this, I created a floralscape that wrapped around two focal points in the garden, featuring the sandstone sculptures. The installation included moss, asparagus fern, tulips, amaranthus, oncidiums, slipper orchids and freesia for scent. Each element of the ingredients were carried across to the bridal bouquet, buttonhole, bar area and grazing table.

I find it hard to pinpoint one floral moment from this wedding that was my favourite as it was all so wonderful to make. But, if I had to, it would be a mixture of making the bouquet for Bekky, delivering it and having a moment with her on her wedding day. Also putting together the floralscape for the Ceremony. Bekky told me she had sneak back to have a private moment with it and to take it all in on her own, that warmed my heart.

Bekky and Chris had so much trust in me and were open to my suggestions – it made the process so smooth. A dream couple, and I wouldn’t have done anything differently. Probably the only thing I would have changed would have been to be able to have stayed to sneak a peek at the bride arriving.”

A big thank you to Bekky & Chris for sharing their beautiful day with us and to Geraldine for her stunning work. Full list of vendors below, as always!
