A little about the business
Wild Forager is the creation of sisters Sarah and Sophie. Our backgrounds are in floristry and homewares buying respectively. Together, we’re all-round nature enthusiasts with a passion for hunting out pieces that offer connection. We celebrate the relationship between indoors and out, the coexistence of beauty and imperfection, and the intertwining of the natural world with the things in our homes. Our aim is to inspire our customers to interact with nature and create a personal sanctuary.
The Role
We are seeking a talented senior florist to join our Wild Forager family in a high-end retail setting. This role is unique as we offer a beautifully curated range of gifts, homewares, and floral arrangements. The ideal candidate will be flexible, fulfilling retail assistant tasks while also creating stunning bouquets in the signature Wild Forager style.
Your Focus Will Include:
Designing floral arrangements in the Wild Forager style, including for weddings and events when needed
Fulfilling website orders and assisting walk-in customers with a focus on excellent customer service and rapport-building
Demonstrating creative flair with attention to detail in all floral designs
Taking orders in person and by phone, organising couriers, and processing payments
Utilising technical skills to operate our POS system, website, and manage email communications
Caring for and conditioning flowers, foliage, and plants to ensure quality and freshness
Maintaining the cleanliness, tidiness, and organisation of the store
Creating beautiful visual displays of flowers, plants, pots, and homewares
Restocking gifts, homewares, and books; checking off invoices; printing, pricing, and displaying new stock
Communicating with flower growers and wholesale suppliers to place orders
Offering knowledge or a willingness to learn about plants (training will be provided)
Working some weekdays and one weekend day, with availability during busy periods (Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day)
What We’re Looking For:
A floral designer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a retail florist setting
3-4 days with 1 weekend a must
A passion for creating beautiful floral arrangements and providing excellent customer experiences
The ability to work in a busy and dynamic space with a smile and a positive attitude
Some knowledge of plants is a bonus, but not required, as we’ll provide training
